Employment lawsuits which occur between staff and employers because of activities that occur at work can lead to complex litigation for those involved. Sullivan Royko’s attorneys have represented plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of claims, for example, wrongful termination and constructive termination claims, as well as representing unionized employees in hearings and arbitration proceedings.
Here are some examples of cases Sullivan Royko’s attorneys have worked on:
Defended a prominent educator from wrongful termination and an erroneous DNH decree in both State and Federal Court against an independent office created by statute by the Illinois State Legislature.
Defended a prominent high school principal in the Chicago Public School system against non- remediable termination charges brought pursuant to Section 34-85 of the Illinois School Code.
Represented employer against claims by executive for breach of contract and fraud seeking $3 million in damages. Tried case before the Honorable Ronald Riley. Although jury after hearing evidence for 10 days found employer liable for breach of contract, it reduced plaintiff’s damages to lost wages.
